We’d love you to join us

Get in touch and let us know what interests you and how you’d like to contribute

There is no “typical” Grow Batheaston volunteer. We bring a wide range of skills, interests and experiences, but we share common goals and a belief that we can achieve more by working together. We aim to make all our activities welcoming, supportive, rewarding and safe for both volunteers and the wider community.

You could:

  • Become a trustee — help guide the direction and management of Grow Batheaston.

  • Join one of our working groups — for example:

    • maintaining and developing the Forest Garden

    • monitoring water health in St Catherine’s Brook and the River Avon

    • planting trees and wildflowers

    • researching local trees and creating tree trails

  • Help organise community events — including Nature talks, markets, workshops, and plant or seed swaps.

  • Develop communications and publicity by:

    • creating artwork, taking photographs

    • posting on social media

    • writing for local publications

    • helping at public events and stalls

  • Share updates with our WhatsApp groups to keep volunteers and supporters informed.

  • Help improve our website and online presence.

  • Support fundraising efforts by researching funding opportunities and helping with grant applications.

  • Assist with administration such as emails, enquiries and finance tracking.

  • Represent Grow Batheaston at meetings and external events.

Even if none of the opportunities listed here feels quite right, we would still love to hear from you. New ideas, skills and enthusiasm are always welcome, and every volunteer helps strengthen our growing community.
